PAJE is committed to fostering an inclusive editorial environment. Editors should:

• Actively recruit reviewers and authors from underrepresented groups, regions, and institutions
• Apply the same standards of rigour to all submissions regardless of the author's seniority, gender, institution, or location
• Be alert to language barriers: a manuscript with sound scholarship but uneven English should be evaluated on substance, with copyediting offered at the acceptance stage
• Avoid favouritism toward authors from prestigious institutions or established networks
• Welcome studies grounded in indigenous knowledge systems and methodologies appropriate to Nigerian and African contexts
