The Pancen Journal of Education (PAJE) is a peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary journal dedicated to advancing scholarly conversation on education in Nigeria. PAJE serves as a national platform where rigorous academic inquiry meets the practical realities of teaching, learning, and educational governance, with the goal of informing both classroom practice and systemic reform.

Focus

PAJE publishes original research and analysis that illuminates the state of Nigerian education and contributes evidence toward its improvement. The journal is committed to:

  • Empirical rigour — privileging studies grounded in verifiable data, sound methodology, and transparent reasoning
  • Practical relevance — bridging the gap between research findings and the daily realities of educators, administrators, learners, and policymakers
  • National responsiveness — documenting the lived experience of Nigerian education while welcoming comparative and international perspectives that enrich local understanding

Scope

PAJE welcomes contributions across the full breadth of educational scholarship, including but not limited to:

Article types accepted

PAJE accepts the following types of submissions:

  • Empirical research articles — quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods studies
  • Situational analyses and case studies with clear policy or practice implications
  • Systematic reviews and meta-analyses
  • Theoretical and conceptual papers that advance understanding of educational phenomena
  • Policy analyses and commentary grounded in evidence
  • Book reviews and review essays on significant works in the field
  • Short communications reporting emerging findings of immediate interest

Audience

PAJE is written for and by a broad community of educators, researchers, graduate students, policymakers, school leaders, teacher educators, curriculum developers, and education-sector stakeholders working within Nigeria and engaging with Nigerian education internationally.

Editorial commitments

All submissions undergo double-blind peer review. PAJE is fully open access, charges no article-processing fees, and is committed to publishing scholarship that meets international standards of academic rigour while remaining grounded in the questions that matter most to Nigerian education.
